The Black Roses
"The Black Roses are a 4 piece band from Central Illinois. Crunchy guitars, forceful drumbeats, driving bass lines backing powerful melodies, The Black Roses take notes from 70s pop punk bands with a 90s female alt rocker feel. They bring the power back in Power Pop to the midwest. They've been described as "a combination of catchy, memorable lyrics" with "a tight sound and some powerful melodies."
Long ago a young, or perhaps freshly painted, airship christened the Brazen Beauty set off her first journey from the far-away city of Tennesbury. After years of adventures too far-fetched to repeat, she found herself and her crew lost in a much stranger land... this one. Now renamed Airship O'Reilly, she and her crew come to the con to... well... probably steal something.
Started back in 2007 as the Brazen Beauty, the Champaign, IL based Airship O'Reilly has since evolved beyond just a group of kids who wanted to make movies and have fun. Bringing together several slightly insane individuals, O'Reilly has become a force of entertainment, hosting events in their hometown, making costumes and accessories, and bringing the madness and chaos with them wherever they go.
The Asterplace is a NYC based Tokyo melodic-core and Japanese anime rock band from Tokyo, Japan. "The Asterplace" can be defined as creating beautiful music, much like the beauty of a flower blossoming each year, representing the beautiful melody the band’s music creates. As the sun shines upon the world, as the moonlight upon the atmosphere, TheAsterplace projects their music to the world.
They have performed at more than 30 conventions as musical guests so far. Their performances at Anime NEXT(NJ), Zenkaikon(PA), Tribeca film festival(NY), Armageddicon Revolution (OH), Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden(NYC), Sakura Matsuri in D.C. are only a few of their musical endeavors thus far. Furthermore, they had a tour in Germany this summer to perform at one of their biggest conventions, COSDAY2 (Frankfurt).
In order to create their compositions with a whole new energy, they use diversity to produce each tune. This group’s tremendous dedication to their work is evident, as they are constantly working, practicing, and thinking about new pieces. They are never satisfied until perfection is reached. The mixed cultural and newfound movement of their music constantly surprises their audience. Their sound deletes the barrier between ethnicities and other common boundaries, leaving an everlasting impression. With a variety of style, they rock each show away, each time becoming more unique.
